Surya kirana Vignan  (The science of solar rays)

Samartha Sadguru Sri Sri Ramakrishna Gurudev inaugurated the Sun temple in Errabalem on 21st November 2006. He conducted classes on the science of solar rays (15.11.2006-17.11.2006) giving the sadhakas an overview of how to utilize the solar energy and thereby obtaining good health and longevity.

The transiting of Sun into Makara rasi (Capricorn) is called Makara Sankramana or Maha Sankramana. By then, all surya upasakas should learn the procedures of surya upasana. All spiritualism originates from the Sun. Take the examples of Syamantaka mani (the giver of prosperity and riches), Aditya Hrudayam (the power to vanquish enemies), Akshaya Patra (unlimited bounty). All these were obtained by suryopasana. This science needs to be revived. Our efforts are focused in that direction. It is to be borne in mind that revival of so great a science cannot be achieved overnight. It will take few years of continuous and regular efforts. After which we shall not only receive those powers but also accrue the power in this Surya temple at Errabalem. Surya temple will be potent to cure all diseases of the body from the skin to the heart (From the most external to the most internal core of the body. The motto of Surya temple is "Vyadhi aadi naashana".

The procedure to be followed for suryopasana :

Arrange for two photos of equal size

Surya Yantra

Saptashwarudha Surya (Surya on the chariot driven by 7 horses).

Surya Devata Sthapana: Install these two photos in great pomp and joy. Call like-minded people and motivate them for surya upasana

Perform Surya Namaskaras with appropriate mantras and pranayama. The 12 poses together constitute one Surya Namaskara. The mantras associated with each posture is as follows

1.      Hraam mitraya namah

2.      Hreem ravaye namah

3.      Hroom suryaya namah

4.      Hraim bhanve namah

5.      Hraum khagaya namah

6.      Hraha pushNe namah

7.      Hraam hiranya garbhaya namah

8.      Hreem mareechaye namah

9.      Hroom adityaya namah

10.  Hraim savitre namah

11.  Hraum arkaya namah

12.  Hraha bhaskaraya namah

Ensure that you do at least one surya namaskara. This helps to remove many a physical problem and mental worries. Your family issues will get resolved and harmonious conditions will prevail. There is one more very important benefit out of surya namaskaras, i.e., all problems related to graham-rashi doshas will be assuaged. The reason being that Sun is the king of all planets and zodiac. Do these surya namaskaras all your life. Do them in the three-fold manner of asana (posture), mantra (with associated mantras) and pranayama (each posture will be associated with alternate exhalation or inhalation? Start with exhalation).

Establish Gurusthana. Yagna kundi with 12 bricks and 5 lamps, and kalasha at eesanya (North-East corner). The 12 bricks represent the 12 adityas. Sun stays in one rashi for a month. During this time distinct rays emanate from the Sun and reach the earth. This way, while the Sun is in 12 rashis, different kinds of rays are emanated. These energies affect 12 different sections of our body from head to feet. This means that some rays influence the head, while others influence the throat etc. In November, it is the vrischika (scorpio) sankramana. During this phase the Sun rays are potent and have healing capacity for all diseases related to menstrual cycle and genetalia. The relationship between various rashis - planet - part of the body is given in the following table

You should learn to utilize these healing rays of the Sun. Hence, you should choose the appropriate mantra for preventing or treating a disease. The 58th page of Surya Aradhana book gives 54 mantras for 54 different kinds of diseases. Select the mantra for the disease you are affected with and do the japa of that mantra 108 times. You can do this mantra japa for the sake of your family members, relatives and friends too. Do it in their name. The devatas understand your emotions and react to that. I have especially established this surya temple for promoting health and healing. By suryopasana, we can not only cure diseases but prevent them. That is why it is extolled "aarogyam bhaskaradhichyet " - the Sun is the giver of health.

  • Do the japa of Ashtakshari mantra of Sun : Om Hreem Grunihi Suryaha Adityah Shreem. Do at least 4 malas of this mantra along with 1 mala of Gayatri Mantra. All those who have established gurusthana should do this mantra japa after completing the shat karmas (pavitreekarana, achamana, shikha bandhan, pranayama, nyasa, prithvi poojan, chandana dharana).

  • Followed by mantra japa, complete the chanting of Aditya Hrudayam and Gayatri Sthavan.

  • At the end, offer the water in the kalasha to Lord Surya. This completes your program for the day
